Senate bet Camille Villar secures endorsement from Iloilo City leaders
ILOILO CITY — Senatorial aspirant Camille Villar on Friday received the endorsement of key local officials in Iloilo City as she joined the kickoff rally of Team Uswag at the historic Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.
Villar expressed gratitude to the city’s leadership, particularly Mayor Jerry Treñas, for the warm welcome and support. She joined the local slate led by mayoral bet Inday Raisa Treñas and re-electionist Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon during their proclamation rally.
“Suportahan naton sang todo todo para sa Senado Camille Villar, #66! Together, we can create positive change!” said Raisa Treñas, rallying voters to back Villar’s candidacy in the upcoming May 2025 midterm elections.

Villar also received backing from the Uswag Ilonggo party-list, headed by Rep. James “Jojo” Ang, who vowed to campaign for Villar among fellow Ilonggos.
In her speech, Villar pledged to pursue policies that focus on livelihood, job creation, women empowerment, gender equality, and education reform.
“Noon pa man, isinusulong ko na po ang mga batas na magtataguyod ng kabuhayan, magbibigay ng trabaho, at magpapaabot ng pangarap na bahay para sa mga Filipino. Ipagpapatuloy ko po yan,” she said.
(From the very beginning, I have been advocating for laws that promote livelihood, provide jobs, and help Filipinos achieve their dream of owning a home. I will continue to pursue these efforts.)
With 15 years of experience in both public service and the private sector, Villar said she hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the Senate.
“Ako po ang maging bagong boses niyo sa Senado… upang matugunan natin ang pangangailangan ng bawat pamilyang Filipino,” she said.
(I will be your new voice in the Senate… to address the needs of every Filipino family.)
The youngest among the senatorial candidates, Villar vowed to champion the aspirations of ordinary Filipinos in her legislative agenda.
